bed rotting
don't let the bed bugs bite
here i am writing about something that perhaps many people have in common, bed rotting. i’m even writing this while laying down (truly a bed rot champion).
i wonder why or how bed rot exist so i dig deep into my brain castle.
bed rot origins
what were we truly escaping? anxiousness? overstimulation? real life?
it all started with intending to have a quick scroll through socials. two hours later a shrimp has been formed by our spine while eating chips. yes, its concerning. but i’ve seen people talking about bed rotting in tiktok too so dont worry you’re not alone. or… atleast i’m not alone…
bed rot culture
sometimes bed rot can be reallyyyyy comfy. like watching movies and eating popcorn while its pouring rain outside??? yes please. a lot of people think its “depressing” when it comes to bed rotting, but actually it could be someone letting go of what makes them overstimulated. a form of therapy. just trying to heal.
the science of bed rotting (sorta)
i think bed rotting is a way of our brain asking to just chill out and scroll after everything that feels too much, so we just lay down and not mentally drift apart. and so we do what makes us relax for a while and have a little fun digitally.
— apart from everything, bed rotting all the time is also not great for us. too much stillness is not good. we need movement, fresh air, and sunlight too ;) its all about balance :))
thank u sm for reading!
